Save editor

How it works

From save file to full pockets in three steps — no installs, no uploads.

  1. Locate your save file

Deltarune stores saves in a hidden folder that depends on your OS. Our save file location guide shows the exact path for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

  2. Edit in your browser

Open the file with the editor above and change money, items, HP, party members, or story flags. Everything is parsed locally, so edits are instant and private.

  3. Download and replace

Download the edited file, put it back where the original was, and start the game. The full walkthrough covers backups and troubleshooting.

Always keep a backup copy of your original save file before replacing it — one spare copy turns any mistake into a non-issue.

What you can edit

Common save fields are exposed as plain controls — no hex editor required. Not every story flag is mapped or safe to change.

Money (KROMER)

Set your money to any amount — max out before a shop run, or roleplay a permanently broke run.

HP & stats

Raise max HP, attack, defense, and magic for Kris, Susie, Ralsei, and any other party member.

Items & equipment

Add weapons, armor, and consumables to your inventory or storage box — including boss rewards you missed.

Party & spells

Edit party members and their spells, and build the exact team you want for any fight.

Story flags & plot

Inspect raw flags and change selected values when you understand the consequence. Back up first: incomplete labels and mismatched flags can cause unexpected scenes.

Play time

Adjust the play timer stored in your save — handy after restoring a backup or reclaiming a lost file.

Why this editor?

Most Deltarune save editors were built for Chapter 1 and quietly abandoned. This one was rebuilt for the current release: it detects your chapter automatically when the file loads, including Chapter 5's filech5_* saves, so the right format and name tables load without guesswork.

It also goes deeper than the classics. The inventory editor covers your storage box as well as your pockets, and a raw flag browser lets power users flip any story flag directly — handy for revisiting choices like the Snowgrave route. The whole tool is mobile-friendly, so you can edit a save on your phone, and it can repair truncated save files that older editors refuse to open.

Your save never leaves your device

The editor is client-side JavaScript. When you open a save file, your browser reads its contents with the FileReader API, and every edit happens in memory on your own machine. The editor does not upload or store save-file contents. The site separately uses analytics and advertising services as described in the privacy policy.

Save-file contents stay local to the editor.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Deltarune save editor safe? Will it steal my save file?

Save-file contents are read with the FileReader API and processed locally in your browser; the editor does not upload or store them. Any save edit can still cause unexpected in-game behavior, so keep an untouched backup before replacing a file.

Which chapters and platforms are supported?

The editor supports Deltarune Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 from the full release on Windows and macOS. Linux and Steam Deck users can edit files they access inside the game's Proton save folder. Nintendo Switch and PlayStation saves are not supported.

Where is my Deltarune save file located?

The save folder depends on your operating system, and on Windows it is hidden inside AppData. Our save file location guide shows the Windows and macOS paths, plus how Linux and Steam Deck users can find the Proton save folder.

Does it work with demo saves?

No. The editor supports the full Chapter 1-5 release only. Saves from the free Chapter 1 & 2 demo use a different file format and are not compatible.

Will editing corrupt my save file?

Any save edit can cause unexpected in-game behavior. Back up the original before replacing it, especially before changing raw story flags. The editor exposes common fields, but not every story flag is mapped or safe to change; our how to use guide covers the backup steps.

Does it work with Chapter 3, Chapter 4, and Chapter 5?

Yes. The editor auto-detects Chapters 3, 4, and 5 from the filename. Chapter 5 uses the same 3,055-line V2 layout and includes its released items, weapons, armor, spells, and selected rooms; unmapped story flags remain available as raw values.

Can I get both the Dealmaker and the Puppet Scarf?

Yes. Defeat Spamton NEO once, then use the item editor to add the reward you missed: the Puppet Scarf if you won by fighting, or the Dealmaker if you won by snapping his wires.
