Why this editor exists

Most Deltarune save editors were built for Chapter 1, designed for desktop only, and some asked you to upload your save file to a stranger's server. When Chapters 3 and 4 launched on June 5, 2025, players deserved something better: a modern, mobile-friendly, privacy-first Deltarune save editor that covers Chapters 1-5 of the full release.

This site is that editor. It is free, requires no sign-up, and treats your save file the way a save editor should — as your data, on your machine.

What makes it different

  • 100% local processing. Your save is read with the FileReader API and edited in your browser's memory. Nothing is ever uploaded.
  • Automatic chapter detection. The editor figures out which chapter a save belongs to when the file loads, with a manual chapter switcher when you want control.
  • Full inventory editing. Pockets, equipment, key items — plus the 72-slot storage box in Chapter 2 and later.
  • Raw flag browser. Power users can view and flip any story flag directly, not just the ones with friendly labels.
  • Built to be forgiving. It validates your save before writing and can repair slightly broken files that older editors refuse to open.

Support and verification

Last verified August 15, 2026. Production assets matched the audited source, the parser suite passed 27/27 tests, and the bundled fixture for each chapter completed a byte-identical round trip.

Support matrix

  • Chapter 1: full-release filech1 format, 10,318 lines, with no storage box.
  • Chapters 2-4: 3,055-line V2 format with inventory, equipment, storage, and raw flags. Chapter 3-4 story labels are incomplete.
  • Chapter 5: 3,055-line V2 format with mapped items, equipment, spells, selected rooms, and raw flags. Unknown IDs are preserved; story flags are incomplete.

Known limitations

  • Demo and console saves are unsupported.
  • Linux and Steam Deck require access to the game's Proton save folder.
  • The Chapter 5 browser round trip was verified July 29, 2026; final game reload validation is still pending.
